Why word of mouth

A referred customer arrives already trusting you. Nothing you can buy does that.

Referred work closes faster, argues less over price and stays longer, because somebody they already trust vouched for you before you ever spoke. You know this. The trouble is that it turns up by accident: you cannot forecast it, cannot scale it, and most months have no idea where the next one comes from. A room like this exists to turn that from luck into something that happens on a schedule.

01

One person per trade

One accountant. One lawyer. One aircon specialist. Nobody in the room competes with you, which is the whole reason members are willing to hand over their own contacts.

02

Givers Gain

The principle the whole thing runs on: look for business to give other members, and it comes back to you. It works slowly at first and then all at once, which is why the first-year retention number matters.

03

Referrals have a slot in the agenda

Passing business is not left to chance over coffee. There is a point in every meeting where members stand up and name the work they are handing to someone else.

04

People who have known each other for years

Some members have been in this chapter for over a decade. They are not referring you because they met you once. They are referring you because they have watched you show up every Wednesday morning.

The meeting

So you know roughly what you are walking into.

Every Wednesday at 8:00am, done by 9.30am. First week of each month in person at Copthorne King's Hotel, 403 Havelock Road, Singapore 169632. Every other week on Zoom.

    Open networking

Coffee and name cards before the formal start. Your host introduces you around to the businesses you could work with.

  2. 02

    Everyone introduces their business

Your turn to tell the room what you do and the kind of referral you are looking for. Everyone else does the same, so you leave knowing who can send you work.

  3. 03

    One member presents properly

A single business goes deep for a few minutes. This is where the room learns who to refer to whom.

  4. 04

    Referrals and thank-yous

Members name the business they are handing each other, and what closed from the last round. Real work changing hands, out in the open, with the names attached.

  5. 05

    Close, then breakfast

The formal meeting ends and the networking carries on over breakfast. Stay and follow up with whoever you want to, or get on with your day.

In members’ own words

What it actually did for two of us.

Not scripted marketing. One member reporting his own three-year numbers back to the room, and one talking about what the room did for her when she needed it.

“It’s all the connections that I’ve made that made me grow.”

Xavier Yen

Interior Design (Commercial) · February Interiors

Xavier joined quiet. Soft-spoken, by his own description, with Wednesday morning a slot in the calendar rather than something he did much with. His first year returned him nothing at all. Not a little. Zero.

What changed was taking on a leadership role. It stopped being about his own business and started being about the thirty other people in the room, and he began turning up deliberately rather than just turning up.

Then he did the thing almost nobody bothers with: he tracked it. Three years of what he gave the room against what came back. The second year looked wrong. He had passed more referrals than in his first — twelve against nine — yet the business they were actually worth had collapsed, from close to S$5,000 down to S$858. The conclusion was uncomfortable and useful. The referrals he was handing out were not good enough.

So he changed how he made them. In the third year he passed twenty-four referrals worth S$16,701. And the business that came back to him went from S$0, to S$28,025, to S$56,124.

“My chapter mates would help me read my weekly presentation.”

Deborah Wong

Essential Oils Specialist · Living Essentially Pte Ltd

Every week the chapter asks each member to stand up and describe their business. For Deborah that one routine minute is harder than it is for anyone else in the room. She has a disability, and reading aloud is not straightforward.

So her chapter mates read it for her.

There is no policy behind that, no accommodation process, no committee. Somebody sitting nearby picks up the page. It is a small, unglamorous thing, and it is the most precise illustration on this page of what a room being more like a business family than a boardroom actually means in practice.

From there came joint events run with other members’ businesses, and by her own account a customer base that grew from under fifty people to a team serving several thousand. She gives the full figures in the video.

Asked what she would say to somebody struggling, she does not talk about business at all. “Don’t let what we can’t do stop us from doing what we can do.”

Deborah’s seat in the chapter is now held by her husband, Fabian Tan, who represents Living Essentially. See Fabian in the member list

Why Premier

Twenty-three years in, this still runs more like a business family than a boardroom.

Every BNI chapter runs the same agenda. What differs is what the room is like once the formal part is over. Premier works hard and plays hard: members stay back for breakfast, turn up at each other’s events, and know each other well enough to refer business without being asked twice.

In June 2026 the chapter placed first in Singapore for overall member retention, at 74%, among chapters of 41 members and under. Members stay because they genuinely enjoy being here — they like the people, they look forward to the mornings, and the friendships tend to outlast any single referral.

“Giver’s gain — this is what this community is all about. I have greatly benefited from everyone’s referrals, which have opened doors for my work that would otherwise have been inaccessible.”

Alex Yeo

Mental Health & Suicide Prevention · Caring for Life

“Being part of BNI Premier has helped me to grow both personally and professionally through the encouragement and support of fellow members. Serving on the Leadership Team has also given me valuable opportunities to develop new skills and perspectives that I can apply to my work.”

Sarah Poh

Life Insurance · Prudential Assurance Company Singapore

“Through BNI Premier, I expanded my business to more market segments and more countries… I found a new family here!”

Top wanted trades

We already have referrals to pass to these.

We asked every member who they most want to be introduced to. These are the trades that came back most often.

  • Caterers and restaurants
  • Property developers
  • Conveyancing and family lawyers
  • Immigration specialists
  • Physiotherapy, TCM and allied health
  • Facilities and building maintenance
  • Photographers and videographers
  • Cleaning services and handymen

Not the full list. Other trades may be open too.

Before you decide

The things people actually want to ask.

No. Plenty of people visit, decide it is not for them, and that is the end of it. Members invite visitors because the room only works if the right businesses are in it, not because there is a quota to fill.

Come and see

One Wednesday morning. That is the whole commitment.

  • Visiting is not joining

You will be asked what you thought of the meeting. You will not be asked to sign anything.

  • You will not be the odd one out

A member is assigned to meet you before the room fills up and stays with you through the meeting.

  • You will know by 9.30am

One morning, start to finish. If it is not for you, you still gain connections and a delicious breakfast.

What a visit costs

S$65

In person, breakfast included

S$15

On Zoom

That is the only thing you pay to visit. The chapter goes through what membership costs at the meeting itself, and hearing it commits you to nothing.

The chapter matches your payment to your inviter, so this one matters.

Takes a second. Welna, our visitor host, will look after you on the day. Payment comes next, and your seat is confirmed once it is in.
